Little Tokyo Flyer Ministry

We pass out the church flyer every Thursday evening.

Little Tokyo is a historic Japanese town that is a spiritual home of Japanese and Japanese Americans. Since Davar Church was located near Little Tokyo in the past, we every now and then do activities in Little Tokyo. We pass out the flyers, join the Summer Festival, and sing Christmas carols. We do hope many people who walked by Little Tokyo and received a flyer will be met Jesus Christ and saved. If you see us at Little Tokyo in Friday evening, please stop by.

Azusa Prayer Time

We have prayer time at Azusa Street in Little Tokyo.

Here is Azusa Street. It is a small blind alley with approximately 100 yards in length.

Without this sign, we may pass over this small street.

Sign explains the Azusa Revival. Site of the Azusa St. Revival from 1906 to 1931. Cradle of the Worldwide Pentecostal Movement.

Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them (Act 2:2-4).

In 1906, W. J. Seymour, a pastor came to Los Angeles. He preached Holy Spirit and Tongue that were not familiar to the people at that time. He was accepted by them and displaced from the church. Later, when he preached at the house that accepted him, people at the house were suddenly filled by Holy Spirit and started to speak by tongues like foreign language. This news was spread over immediately and many people came to the old building at 312 Azusa Street from many other places. As lots of miracles happened there, Fire of Pentecostal movement that started in Azusa Street spread to all the States and all over the world.

We have strange feeling that such a historic place is now in Japanese town. Current Azusa Street is a small alley that is around 100 yards. There is small sign that shows Cradle of worldwide Pentecostal movement. We have prayer time at Azusa Street every Friday in order that many people come to the church on weekend, people who have problems are saved, not only Christians but also everyone are blessed. We gather, agree, and pray.

Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them (Mathew 18:19-20)

Testimony

Here are some testimonies of member's group.

Ten years ago, I was working in what I thought was the ideal dream job in a prime, lucrative radiology practice at a hospital in a beautiful area of Orange County.
I had been attending Davar Church for about two years. God had begun to help me see how empty my life was in the pursuit of worldly success and wealth. I decided to quit my job and sought God's help for a new path for my life.

Kiyoto was my friend. As a young man, he enjoyed skiing and was an excellent soccer player. He was also living without hope or purpose. When Kiyoto was 17 he had a terrible skiing accident that left him paralyzed in his legs and right arm. He couldn't move his body and experienced pain throughout his life. Kiyoto continued living, drinking heavily, and wanting to die.
Then he met Jesus Christ and for the first time had hope. Although he was crippled, Kiyoto knew there was a reason why he was still alive.

Last yearE½cit may have related to stressE½cduring work, I would get short of breath and would have to take deep breaths for relief. I was having nightmares of drowning at sea and would wake up in the middle of the night. Upon medical examination, I was diagnosed with sleep apnea, and was found to have 15 apneic episodes within an hour. Those nightmares of drowning at sea were actually episodes of apnea that I was having during my sleep!
